For proof reading and minor corrections (spelling, punctuation, tenses, articles etc.) the basic price is 50 Czech crowns/2 euros per page. If it is necessary to rewrite or translate sections this will of course be reflected in the final price. Ideally the work should be in electronic form eg. Word, open Office, html, e-mail or in printed form suitable for scanning.

The art of good translation is often more than just translating words. Style, approach and the way of looking at things also varies according to culture. Having grown up and worked in an English speaking country and lived fifteen years in the Czech Republic I am fully conversant with both cultures. This means I can translate Czech texts into a form that looks like an original English text and which native English speakers will feel comfortable with.  I also have a scientific/technical background which helps with technical translating and an interest in almost everything else as well as a long-standing fascination with the English language.

 

I usually accept texts in electronic form though I do occasionally translate from printed texts or video and audio recordings. Prices are calculated on the basis of 250 Czech crowns/10 euros per normal page with slightly higher prices for more technical texts or express service.  

 

From time to time you may need just a few words translating- a Christmas greeting to your business partner, an invitation or a few lines to a foreign friend. This is something I’ve always done for my regular customers.
